The last time we spoke of a Cool Office Space, we were awed by the classic and futuristic look of GHD. This time, the natural surroundings and minimalist design of the Selgas Cano Architecture Office in Madrid caught our eye. Nestled within a forest and constructed partially underground, to some, this is an exhilarating change from the typical gray cubicle scene with uncleaned carpets and recycled air. The sharp colours make workers feel happy (I would assume) and the lack of ‘offices’ gives a new meaning to an ‘open door policy’. Plus, the large windows across the whole office bring in the perfect amount of sunlight so there’s no need to turn on the lights during the day, a nice cost reduction I must say.
Flip the coin, is this design really that practical? I mean, how many of you would feel claustrophobic in this enclosed space? Would you feel like a specimen in a test tube?
I guess for me it would be nice to work in such a space for a change. But i wonder if the trek is a long one from the parking lot/bus station to the front entrance….
