Pixelate

Turn your bookshelf into a beautiful display of pixelated icons. Great DIY idea from Icoeye, they even have a pixel dust-jacket template available in PDF. While you’re at it, grab a piece of the Clicking Kitchen Grip plus the ThinkGeek 8-bit Tie and you can start living in Mushroom Kingdom.

Plush Toys for Geeks

Someone has found the Higgs Boson! All this time it’s been hiding in The Particle Zoo. It’s grey and in the shape of a star with a big smile across its face. In fact you can pick one up from Zookeeper Julie Peasley. Good luck on the shipping though, as they are quite “massive”, at least in theory! …ahem!

Anyways, not a big fan of Particle Physics but still want your geeky plush toy? No worries. You can always find your favourite GIANTmicrobe that comes with their own birth certificate microscopic image.

Chain Bottle Holder

I don’t know if everyone has noticed already but we recently received and made available for sale the Chain Bottle Holder. Regardless of age groups, the bottle holder is sure to impress just about anyone who hasn’t seen it before. The gravity defying optical illusion makes the Chain Bottle Holder appear as though the wine bottle is floating in the air.

Available now at the Vidafine shop.

New Simpsons’ Opening

Wow. So after 20 years of having the same recognizable opening title sequence, The Simpsons has finally succumbed to the High Definition revolution. Although for the most part, it hasn’t changed drastically, but I’ve been having mixed feelings after seeing this. On one hand, it’s great that they’ve adapted to the ever changing landscape of TV production quality. On the other hand however, I just feel as though I’ve been so accustomed to seeing the old opening for the past 20 years that it just doesn’t seem right.

Let us know how you guys feel about this.

The Observer’s Designer DIY series

Tough economic times calls for improvisation. So The Observer has gathered 5 of the top designers in the fashion industry to give you tips on how to stay stylish the most affordable way – doing it yourself. Sir Paul Smith provides his insight on how to customize an old shirt. Punk style Vivienne Westwood gives eco styling tips and instructions on how to stitch together a dress.

A really cool read whether or not you go through with it.

The Gear Clock Family

This is just too… mechanical to be true?!

Literally the day we got this thing, all of us hovered around to put it together and spent a good half hour watching the big wheel turn as precious time passes by…

There’s nothing typical about this wall clock. Yeah, everyone is used to the minute and the hour hands rotating on their timepieces, but this design from Kikkerland is a wall clock that operates inversely, with a rotating face!

Measuring more than half a metre in diameter, show your love-deprived wall some passion with this Gear Clock.

For those who happen to be lacking wall space, check out the desktop version down below, which is just as impressive! Look for these two in the Vidafine shop as early as next week!
