Steve Jobs Plush Toy for Mac Fanboys
Yes. Someone decided to make a Steve Jobs doll for all the Apple fans out there to worship cuddle and sleep with. The handmade plush toy is of course, fitted with Jobs’ signature mock turtleneck and blue jeans. Selling for USD 28 at PodBrix, this has gotta be one of the best gifts you can get for your friend who fits in with this group. If that isn’t enough, also check out the huge iPod speakers available at the Vidafine Shop.

Le Pain Quotidien – Foodie Review
Second stop: Le Pain Quotidien-508 Eglinton Avenue West North York, Toronto, Ontario.
To continue on my last foodie review post, the next stop that day was to Le Pain Quotidien, a global establishment originating from Belgium with locations spanning from Australia to Mexico to Kuwait. Upon entering, the brick interior was warm and inviting while the open skylight brought welcomed natural light into this cozy artisan bakery/restaurant. For those of you who speak fluent french, you’ve probably realized that le pain quotidien actually translates to ‘the daily bread’ which is exactly the impression that we got when we walked in. Typography & Writer’s Block Soap
For all the typography and font enthusiasts out there, here’s a little something you might get excited over. Designed by Debbie Chialtas and available at The Soap Lab, these bars of soap have been created using glycerin, of which one features protruding letters and symbols, while the other reminds us of a chalkboard covered in writing. Both designs are very intriguing to us and we almost don’t want to use them! It also doesn’t hurt that the typography one smells like crushed ice and the writer’s block version smells of black coffee. So whether you use it as a decorative piece or as a cleansing agent, we’re certainly impressed with how Debbie has decided to incorporate the relevance of fonts and words into her everyday lifestyle. Cardboard Office
Back in grade school, I remember one of the assignments that I had to do was to design & construct a replica of the school described in the book Ender’s Game by Orson Scott. (It was one of my favourite books at the time! I highly recommend it to all sci-fi lovers!) Using cardboard, construction paper, paint, and glue, my partner and I had created a rotating structure which our teacher was quite impressed with. That’s why, when I saw this Completely Cardboard Office designed for Nothing I had a moment. Nothing is an Amsterdam-based, independent entrepreneurial agency whom commissioned Alrik Koudenburg and Joost van Bleiswijk to design an office that was unique. What Nothing received was a giant cardboard box. Read more »

Park Like An Idiot?
Growing up in York Region within the Greater Toronto Area, I must tell you how amused I am by some drivers’ inability to “see the pair of straight lines” and “position their vehicle in between them”. While the use of this bumper sticker is pretty self-explanatory, there is more here than meets the eye… Read more »

Finding Your Lost Camera

I think I speak for everyone when I say, Losing Things Suck. Unfortunately, my absent-mindedness coupled with a strong dose of forgetfulness results in a steady and consistent amount of misplaced personal items. What’s worse is losing something that can’t be replaced: your grandmother’s necklace, a ring from your first relationship, or a camera that has captured everything worth remembering. Well, I Found Your Camera solves one of those aforementioned problems. Here, kind-spirited individuals upload pictures found on the camera and a description of where and when it was found. Relying on sheer human kindness and a bit of luck, orphaned cameras are reunited with their father/mother. Now that you’ve got that camera back, don’t you dare lose it again!

SENZ and the City

Remember the SENZ umbrella we featured earlier? (Yes, the one that doesn’t flip in a storm.) A group of students from the Technical University in Delft, Netherlands, decided to make a video with it. Now please shut off your cell phone and get ready for… SENZ and the City

Capsule Office Space
The last time we spoke of a Cool Office Space, we were awed by the classic and futuristic look of GHD. This time, the natural surroundings and minimalist design of the Selgas Cano Architecture Office in Madrid caught our eye. Nestled within a forest and constructed partially underground, to some, this is an exhilarating change from the typical gray cubicle scene with uncleaned carpets and recycled air.
