Thousands of Melting People
While the title of this article could double as a terrible name for an up and coming indie rock band, it actually represents a work of art by Nele Azevedo. Ever since 2005, this Brazilian artist has been setting up thousands of these Melting Men all around the world. The sculptures are made out of ice and set up in public city centers to generate maximum traffic and create awareness about her cause. Recently she partnered with the World Wildlife Federation and setup her ice sculpture exhibit in the Berlin square.
Thousands of miniature ice people melting away by the warmth of the summer sun represents the frailty of human life and also brings greater awareness to the issue of global warming. The exhibits only lasts 30-40 minutes depending on the weather, so if you ever stumble upon one of these snap those pictures quick!
