RBC Blue Water Project

RBC Blue Water Project

With two thirds of the earth’s surface covered by water and the human body consisting of 75 percent of it, water is arguably one of the most important elements responsible for the sustainability of all life. To ensure that this important natural source is protected and made accessible on a global scale, the Royal Bank of Canada has created the Blue Water Project. Over the course of 10 years, RBC will be supplying $50 million to support charitable initiatives that foster a culture of protecting and preserving water.

Water shouldn’t be a luxury. As a fundamental basic need, there is great importance to the purpose of the Blue Water Projects. According to the company, “RBC’s funding will support a range of projects from wetland and shoreline restoration to water quality monitoring and sharing sustainable water management practices in agricultural regions.”

To see a current list of funded Blue Water Projects and to learn more about the role of water in the world today, there are a number of videos to watch. To make a difference, help spread the message by sharing the information or if you have any project or ideas to share with RBC, send them a note, I’m sure they would love to hear from you!

RBC hosted a 'trailer' at Woofstock (downtown Toronto dog festival) that showcased solar panels for houses. Inadvertently they were promoting loans that went towards green initiatives towards home renovations.

What a great way of marketing yourself as an eco-friendly company and investing into educating the public on such initiatives.

The other banks in Canada need and should step up.

Way to go RBC. Thumbs WAY UP!
