Whether you realize it or not, technological advancements (particularly the web) has made the world we live in smaller. And by smaller, I mean everyone is so much more connected, easing the flow of communications and participation amongst people from different corners of the world. AudioDraft out of Finland looks to take advantage of this through connecting producers of audio content with musicians.
Though it’s only in beta right now, Audio draft has an extremely sound business plan to facilitate the production of audio works. Companies start off the process by creating a contest where a prize is set out for the winning designer. From here, the social audio sourcing start-up allows the companies to tap into the talents of the music community – on a global scale. Artists can sign up to AudioDraft as part of the community to design their entries for the contests. Companies hosting the contests will be able to comment and rate the entries and designers will have the opportunity to submit as many entries as they see fit. An interesting feature is the “Social Audio Sketching Tool,” which is web based and allows collaborators to visually manage audio works online. From the intro video, it is quite intuitive and easy to use.
This is an excellent idea stemming from the concept of crowdsourcing quality works from musicians from around the world to create what AudioDraft calls “a unique marketplace for custom-made audio”. It’s definitely refreshing to see innovative start-ups push the boundaries of technology and social media to create new ways for collaboration. We at Vidafine believe that this is the seed from which new cutting edge ideas are born from. For all aspiring musicians, we strongly encourage you to check it out!
