If you own a laptop, chances are you also own some sort of carrying case, but how often have you had to carry it from desk to desk, and it was just too much trouble to pack and unpack? What about walking over from one room to another, or even on the stairs? Well, I have witnessed a Macbook flying down the stairs (while it was being used as a ‘tray’ for two iPhones, and for those of you who have asked me how I broke my iPhone screen, the answer is ‘yes’). Although that was a bit of an extreme case, I guess we have all encountered situations where we wish for a less awkward way to carry our laptop around.
“But it only works with the Macbook Pro!”
Me: Yes, but that’s all that matters =)
There is actually a huge advantage to designing specifically for the Macbook Pro. For those of you unfamiliar, its unibody casing is a single piece of aluminum. The thin part of the mBrace is designed to rest inside the rubber gasket between the screen and the base, transferring much of the force to the strong aluminum body. This allows for an easy installation process and adds only minimal weight and bulkiness.
While definitely not designed for the best protection, the mBrace is meant for convenience, and it’s smartly designed to work with a laptop case or sleeve for longer commutes.
